Mu Zha Tie Guan Yin 木栅铁观音- 2021

$40.00

Muzha refers to wooden fence, which this area, north of Taipei was named due to the wooden fences that were build to ward off Taiwanese Aboriginals.

During the late 1800's, Muzha tea company imported pure Anxi Tie Guan Yin cultivars and chose this area to grow the tea as its climate are similar to Anxi, Fujian.

Muzha Tie Guan Yin features a prominent orchid note, often referred to as Guan Yin Yun, 观音韵 which makes this cultivar unique. Its tea making style still maintains the traditional Fujian style of dark charcoal roasted Oolong, and features an even tighter rolled ball compared to its cousin in Anxi, which are producing mostly the lightly roasted Jade Tie Guan Yin.

This brings out a more sweet caramelised notes from the tea, aptly paired with its orchid floral notes.

A great tea of choice for dim sums and savory food.

Comes in 50g packaging.
