Located south of Ethiopia, Guji coffee beans happens to be relatively sweeter than other Ethiopian beans. Like most of the country's plantations, Guji grows coffee in a region that has high sea levels and rich volcanic soil.


Guji coffee has proven to be the perfect alternative to espresso and is well suited for blending. A burst of sweet medium tones, citrus fruits and cherished chocolate.


A high density coffee, the high notes of sweet pink apricot are incredibly memorable in each cup. Roasting this coffee requires great care and a good hand because the rate of rise is higher than usual roast. Comparing the taste notes of this coffee with Gelena Abaya and Aricha (sold out), this coffee is closer to bergamot and pink apricots than in comparison to blueberries.

This exceptional fully washed coffee was dry milled and exported by Primrose, PLC. The coffee was grown by smallholder farmers living around the kabele (town) of Goromo in Oromia Region.

Most contributing farmers own less than a hectare of land, and they grow coffee simply as a backyard cash crop. Coffee will usually be interspersed with other subsistence crops, such as sweet potatoes, mangos and avocados, but there are no other primary cash crops grown in the region.
